God’s Extravagant Love
On Sunday Heritage begins a 16-week study of the Pentateuch’s fifth book, Deuteronomy. Dr. Daniel Block, of Wheaton Graduate School recently led our Community Group leaders through an exciting tour of the book which he titled, “The Gospel According to Moses.“ This study is certainly going to reform our thinking about Deuteronomy as well as invigorate our passion to study God’s law. I’m titling my preaching series “God’s Extravagant Love”, which is also the title of the first message in the series which I will preach this Sunday. Everything about this book reveals God’s incredible, eternal and omnipotent love for Israel. Anything Shakespeare wrote about undying love will be deemed greatly lacking by anyone who reads Deuteronomy; God’s continuing love story for His own people. In Community Groups you’ll be getting a detailed look at the book’s first 12 chapters. From the pulpit I’ll be sharing the book’s overarching theme and expounding on the subject of God’s love as evidenced in every chapter. If you’ve ever wondered about the motivation for, the demonstration of and extent of God’s love this series will help you understand and appreciate His extravagant love for you. See you Sunday. Like Moses and Israel we’ll stand together on the precipice of a new experience!
