The New Baptist Hymnal: Sing With Me
Teana and I are at Southern Seminary in Louisville Ky, where I have enjoyed the 2nd annual 17th century Baptist History conference. While at Lifeway yesterday, Teana bought the new Baptist Hymnal for only $13.00. For two days I have enjoyed listening to her sing (I love hearing her sing anyway) her way through the hymnal, songs both old (Jesus, What a Friend of Sinners) and new (How Great Is Our God). I would encourage every person and/or family to purchase a copy of the new hymnal for daily private or family worship. No matter your music taste with regard to hymns or choruses, you will find both in the new Baptist Hymnal. Most importantly, you will daily discover our God, Who is worthy to be praised with voice and instrument (Psalm 150).
I picked up three of them at the SBC convention. We use the for our family worship time. It’s not my favorite hymnal (since there are some really good songs it left out), but I’m happy that it’s included a number of my newer favorites and still left in many of my older favorites.
