3 - Gospel - The war in Iraq and continual unrest in the Middle-East have opened many hearts to consider the claims of Jesus.

2012 Holston Baptist
Student Conference
OVERFLOW
HBC LINKS Youth will be attending the Holston Baptist Student Conference...AKA: Ridgecrest! The conference takes place March 30th - April 1st at Ridgecrest Conference Center in Black Mountain, NC. 1,500 students and adults from all across Northeast Tennessee will be there!
This year's theme is OVERFLOW! The goal: To help young believers grasp the true Meaning, Motivation and Manner of WORSHIP, so that they experience Christ in a way that FLOWS OVER into all aspects of their lives.
Registration is $110 per student. This includes the cost of the conference, lodging and food (accept for lunch on Sunday). NOTE: Please contact David and Sue Temple (temple@saratogaus.com) if you are unable to pay the registration fee. We do not want anyone to miss out on this awesome weekend because of financial situations!!
REGISTRATION IS DUE SUNDAY FEBRUARY 5th!! Turn in your registration to David & Sue Temple or Haley & Kelly Wherry. Please make checks out to Heritage Baptist Church and write "Ridgecrest" in the memo.
Pledge 2 Purity 2012
Join the HBC LINKS Youth as we attend Pledge 2 Purity 2012 on February 18th! Pledge 2 Purity is a youth rally that encourages students and adults to live physically, mentally and spiritually pure. This FREE event is for youth grades 6 - 12 AND FOR THEIR PARENTS!! Guest speaker, Justin Lookadoo, will challenge attendees to live a life of purity in order to be the Salt of the World. He will also host a parent/adult breakout session to encourage and equip parents to help their children strive for purity. Also, Special Guest, Tim Byrne, will be sharing the gospel in a way that no one else in the world can do. So, this event is a great opportunity for students to invite their unreached friends!
We will be leaving the church parking lot at 3:30. We will grab dinner in Bristol, so bring $. (Suggested: $10 for meal and then extra if you want a Pledge 2 Purity t-shirt or other resources offered at the event…The event is FREE).
We will attend the Pledge 2 Purity Rally that starts at 6:30 and return back to the church between 9:30 and 10:00.

1 - Believers - Evangelicals are only about 1% of the population and are viewed with suspicion.
2 - Church - is divided primarily between Orthodox Serbs and Catholic Croats, and is more nationalistic than gospel oriented.
3 - Muslims - Money from the Middle East is building mosques and making Muslims harder to reach.
