VBS ASSEMBLY TEAM MEETING—WEDNESDAY
There will be a meeting for the Assembly Team for VBS on May 26th at 6:00 in the KidStuf room.
If you are involved in the Assembly program, you are invited to join us as we make plans.
We will be discussing the VBS schedule, tech assignments, the skit, praise and worship and decorations.
Afterwards we will be setting up minimal decorations on stage.

THE BOOK FAIR CONTINUES
In celebration of the Grand Re-Opening of the Rosebud Room in the Main Library, you are encouraged to make a monetary donation to help purchase new books.
The long silver bookmarks hanging on the library window have book shapes with book, CD, and DVD titles and prices attached.
Simply take a book shape off the bookmark for the title you want the librarians to order for the library.
You can drop the offering and book shape in the offering or bring it to the library.

April 25th - The Grand Re-Opening of the Rosebud Room Children’s Library!
The Rosebud Room has relocated to the main library just off the foyer to the sanctuary entrance.
Come visit and see the change!
Help us celebrate by making a monetary donation to purchase new books.
There are several long ‘bookmarks’ hanging on the window with book titles and prices attached.
You may designate a gift in honor or memory of someone.
Place your money in the accompanying envelope and put it in the offering plate in the next 2 weeks or bring it by the library.

Library News - Accelerated Reader Program

If your school uses the Accelerated Reader program, through Renaissance Place, check out our books! Thanks to the help of several volunteers, we have marked and are continuing to markthe books that have quizzes by a green dot on the spine label. Additionally, you will find the quiz information on a label inside the front cover of the book. There are many books already marked in the Rosebud Room library in the sign-in area of the children’s wing. Please also check with us at the main library, as many of our youth and adult titles also have AR quizzes.
We want you to have access to good literature with a Christian world-view, at the same time as we assist you with your schoolwork.
Did you know that Renaissance Learning—Accelerated Reader had quizzes on the Bible? There are 60 quizzes, covering all (except Psalms, Proverbs, and Song of Solomon) books of the Bible—some combined, like Peter, 1 & 2 and John 1, 2, & 3. The reading levels range from 4.3 to 7.5. The point value ranges from 0.5 to 7.0 points. The quizzes range from 10 to 20 questions.
Use the NIV Student Edition Bible (Zondervan Publishing—1996, 2002, 0r 2003). Come by either the Main Library or the Rosebud Room if you would like a list of quiz numbers or ISBNs for the available Bibles.
This is a great way for students to increase their Bible reading and help themselves with AR points at school.

SAMARITAN’S PURSE OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD
Next week, November 8th you can pick up your shoe box and begin to fill it for Samaritan’s Purse. The shoe boxes will need to be returned to the church by Sunday, December 6th. Description:
This past Wed. night members of Heritage met at the Kid to Kid warehouse in Elizabethton and packed three huge palates of toy turtles and tracts to help comfort kids that have experienced a disaster.
This will be distributed to “Christian Disaster Relief organizations” and used here in America in the event of a natural disaster. Let’s see how much more we can pack this Wednesday.

VBS at Heritage

Description: VBS was a great success. We had 218 in our classrooms and over 176 volunteers! It was heartwarming to see 5 children accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior and be able to a part of one baptism. VBS is one of our favorite times of the year, it not only focuses on brining children to Christ, but also it builds relationships within our congregation. Won't you make plans to join us next year for VBS during the second week of June?
